How to Recover an Unsaved Document in Microsoft Word

Losing work due to a sudden shutdown or an accidental close can be frustrating. Knowing how to recover an unsaved document can save you time and effort.

 

1. Select the File tab in the top left.

 

 

2. Click on Info.

3. Click the Manage Document dropdown.

4. Select Recover Unsaved Documents.

 

 

5. This will open a folder showing you all documents that were closed without saving. Select the document you wish to recover and click Open.

 

 

6. Click File -> Save As, and select a secure location to save your recovered file.
