"Cannot Start Microsoft Office Outlook" Error - Outlook will not Open

Issue:

When attempting to launch Microsoft Outlook, the following error occurs:

 

 

According to Microsoft, the main culprit is a file corruption to your Outlook profile file, the .xml file with your Outlook name.

 

Fix:

Repair the Navigation Pane settings file with command prompt.

 

1. Close Outlook and open command prompt.

 

 

2. Type Outlook.exe /resetnavpane and press enter.

 

 

AND/OR 

 

Create a new mail profile.

 

1. Open the Control Panel.

 

 

2. Click on Mail.

 

 

3. Click the Show Profiles... button.

 

 

4. Click the Add... button.

5. Name the profile and click OK.

 

 

6. Continue the process to add your email account to the new profile.
