McAfee Virus Popup Alert - Fraudulent Notification

Issue:

The following popup notification covers the bottom right of the screen, typically occurs after mistakenly visiting a fraudulent website:

 

 

Don't panic - this isn't a virus, just don't click anything from it.

 

Fix:

Disable notifications from the fraudulent website in Google Chrome.

 

1. Open Google Chrome
2. Click the dots  in the upper right corner
3. Click Settings
4. Scroll down and click Privacy and Security
5. Click Site Settings
6. Scroll down and click Notifications
7. In the Notifications section, look for the fraudulent website that is sending the fake McAfee virus notifications.
8. Click the dots to the right , and select Remove or Block to stop receiving the notifications from it.
